Officers Chen and Bradford respond to a call at the Los Angeles auditions of “American Idol,” and Officer Chen ends up facing Ryan Seacrest and the judges (Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie). Meanwhile, Chen befriends reporter (Roselyn Sanchez) whose motives are not clear.
We might get to see Chen sing again!
Unfortunately, we have to wait til April 5 to see this one.

I thought since they had the long break we were not going to have skipped weeks? Are they doing some special about the virus? Or is American Idol doing extra?

I had read somewhere that there was supposed to be a 3 hour Idol on the 29th, but now they are airing a Rookie rerun. I can't remember were I saw that so maybe not true, but could be Covid-19 has stopped Idol from completing the season. |

I can't remember were I saw that so maybe not true, but could be Covid-19 has stopped Idol from completing the season. I’ve been wondering myself as I watch American idol. I assumed that once the live shows hit they would be done, but they supposedly don’t start until April 12th, so it seems weird. I also thought I’d heard that The Rookie was waiting so long to return after the holidays so that they could go straight through to the end with no interruptions. Confusing. |

Junkie you bought up an interesting point. How did a 5'8" 150 pound man hoist a 6'2" 200 pound man to the ceiling. I know 25 pound bags of dog food are hard to maneuver because the weight shifts. Picking up a 200 pound human is a lot different then picking
up 200 pound barbells.
I think the girl who plays Harper's daughter is so cute. Beautiful child. After reading your review I had to go watch videos of Canadian Idol Season 3.

Great review, PTVJ. My thoughts almost exactly.
So much was going on in this episode with Lucy accidentally getting rushed into the American Idol auditions, Bradford's real-life wife showing up as a pushy reporter taking advantage of the rookie, Chen. Harper has a sleepover at her ex's and invites Nolan along and he brings a date! Wesley plans a romantic getaway and Jackson immediately says "He's going to propose!" Lopez is freaked out and thinks she will be unable to enjoy their getaway because she'll be constantly worried about when Wesley will propose. And what the heck happened to poor Snowball?
I thought it was totally out of character for Harper to be so sharing to the point of inviting Nolan to come spend the night at her ex's while they check to see if Lila really saw a lady with a nightgown with blood on her hands. That's some really good vision to see blood on someone's hands at night while they are walking down the street. Nolan and Harper go out into the street and see a trail of what appears to be blood on the pavement and decide not to take pictures, follow the trail, or get a DNA sample. Great police work.
Turns out Lila did see a little old lady walking her dog who then got attacked by a coyote. It was great Harper believed Lila. The dad didn't seem like a bad guy at all and apparently just had his daughter's best interests at heart when he prevented Harper from seeing the girl. After all, Harper had a dangerous undercover job that had already caused Lila some trauma. Maybe they will get back together?
Meanwhile Nolan manages to get kidnapped. Here's where I really agree with PTVJ. It is completely unbelievable that the neighbor knocked a hole in his ceiling, then heaved the dead weight of the large Nolan up to hang him from a beam. Why not just tie him to a chair or just leave him on the floor? Harper saves the day rescuing Nolan just as the neighbor was going to kill him.
I was so glad Wesley proposed before they left on their trip. They were both really nervous about it and it made sense to get it out of the way so they could really enjoy themselves.
As Grace stitches up Nolan, she confesses that she isn't actually divorced yet and wants to take things slow. This set off an alarm for me that Nolan is her transition guy. As he tries to leave without kissing her she says, "Not that slow!" He gets that look in his eye as he slowly closes the door. I really want this relationship to continue. I guess they will be slowing it down though.
As for Snowball, one of the writers put on twitter that he hid in the bushes and the police returned him to his owner. Guess they can't wrap up everything on screen.
