Summary: In part two of the season finale, Nolan’s discovery goes much deeper than he expected and could put his life and career in jeopardy.
ibmjas, I hope you don't mind me starting this post but I received my screener for "The Hunt" and we have a teaser post at TVFanatic that I wanted to share here.
There are very mild spoilers for part-two of the season finale but if you want to be completely spoiler free, you might want to skip it.

No problem, PTVJ, I was lagging behind on the posting. Lot of intriguing info in your post. The worst is that this is a cliff hanger!
Here's the promo:

Nathan was on GMA this morning. They only showed a very small clip of Nolan getting advice from Nyla. I hope he doesn’t take advice from the serial killer...

Between the promos and all the sneak peeks, I feel like I've seen half of the episode already!

Here's an interview with Nathan on abc7 This was one of the best interviews I’ve seen with Nathan. He must be going crazy sitting at home and not off doing his scuba adventure. He does have a nice pool...but not the same as the ocean.

If he had sense enough to have his kevlar under his shirt, I hope he had enough to wear a wire.

This was a great season finale. The writing for this show is just great.
I try to turn my brain off so I don't notice things that don't make sense or wouldn't happen in real life. For one, Armstrong shot an officer and even though she was apparently a mole, I can't believe he wouldn't have had a mandatory suspension while the shooting was investigated. It made no sense that Nolan would search Armstrong's house. If he found something, it wouldn't be admissable, plus Armstrong could have killed him as an intruder. As it was, Armstrong was tipped off that he needed to destroy any evidence. When Nolan noticed drywall dust on Armstrong's hand, he knew he had hidden something in his walls. As a contractor, Nolan didn't need to knock holes in the walls, he could have easily seen any recently done work. Anyway enough of that. It's a show and they have to take a lot of liberties to keep it entertaining and keep our regulars in the limelight.
What I really liked was that all 3 teams were actively working this case from different directions. I'm glad Harper heard Nolan out and got permission from Grey to do a little undercover work. I understand them not wanting to tell Grey about Armstrong yet. I thought that was really smart to get Armstrong out in the middle of no where to get his burner phone number. Unfortunately, it was a brand new burner phone.
Tim knows of a CI with inside knowledge of Darien's operation. He and Lucy track him down and tell him to find out where Serj is.
Lopez and West pursue the possibility that our selfie crazed society may have taken a picture of Serj driving the car. They are in luck that a photographer was taking pictures of a bride and groom and got a good pic of Serj getting into the car.
Nolan is really going rogue in this episode. He has another encounter with serial killer Dyer. I don't know why he didn't just tell her he didn't have a girlfriend instead of having to have an intimate conversation with Grace in front of Dyer. I'm glad he told Grace he loved her. Couples often wonder if they gave up on their marriage too soon, but Grace admitted she was just going to try because of Oliver. Wrong reason and Nolan tried to tell her that but she felt she was doing the right thing.
Why did Nolan go back to Armstrong's alone without even giving Harper a head's up? I guess he thought he could take care of himself and bring Armstrong in. I was glad to see him enter with his gun drawn. At least he wasn't naive enough to think that their friendship would keep him safe. I was worried when Nolan got shot but very glad he was wearing his BPV. Did he really not record their conversation after Nick said he wanted to explain things?
Realistically, I don't see any way for Nolan to be able to remain on the force after this especially if he decides to run to try to clear his name, but of course that would end the show so maybe they will make him repeat his rookie year? I predict that Armstrong will die trying to save Nolan from the mob.
What's the deal with #Wreckthedress? I've never heard of doing that!

In real life Armstrong would have been suspended. Thing is we have no idea how much time had passed since the shooting. If Nolan had any sense he would have been recording their conversation. Why anyone would want to destroy a dress that cost hundreds maybe thousands of dollars is beyond my comprehension. I did see a video where the brides burned it. So I watched American Idol before the Rookie. They use to have some good singers but these are just mediocre and the judges are annoying.
