S3 E1: Consequences

I'm so excited that our Rookie is back! Nolan really has himself in hot water now.

Although we know Armstrong is the bad cop, Armstrong told the police that Nolan was the mole and that Nolan tried to kill him. He also got a bad guy to come forward and claim Nolan was dirty. They are both seemingly dedicated cops and it's hard for the cops to believe that either one is bad.

Nolan hires Wesley to navigate his legal problems, but he immediately ignores Wesley's advice to stay silent and tells them everything. Commander West is livid that Nolan and Harper investigated Armstrong without bringing their suspicions to their superiors. Nolan offers to go undercover to bring Derian to justice. Things go south when Armstrong escapes the hospital and shows up at Nolan's meeting with the bad guys. Armstrong is shot but we're not sure he is dead. Derian is taken into custody. Fortunately for Nolan the bad guys are unable to shoot an unarmed good guy no matter how many times they fire at him.

I love the character development in this show. Lopez is moving on to become a detective, but there's a little monkey wrench. She's pregnant! She's not too happy about it and doesn't immediately tell Wesley. He discovers her pregnancy test. Lopez confides her fears that it will change their lives in ways they aren't ready for. Wesley assures her it will be fine and although things will be different it will still be wonderful and he makes her laugh saying he will cry when he sees her in her beautiful wedding dress and she will laugh at him for it for the rest of their lives. Angela wants to keep the pregnancy a secret for awhile because she doesn't want to show up pregnant at her new detective job. These guys are just too cute! I love how they have each other's backs and really love each other.

Commander West asks Jackson to consider joining IA. Both Nolan and Harper will have reprimands put in their files. As a rookie the reprimand will likely prevent Nolan from moving forward in the department and they will add a month to Nolan's rookie year. Harper just got joint custody of her daughter. I hope the reprimand has no effect on that.

Rosalind Dyer puts in an appearance as well. She likes sticking her fingers in people's lives and giving a little twist. She makes Lucy relive her time in the barrel and tells her she watched the whole thing. She calls Armstrong to tell him she's given the police some vital tips. She calls Nolan to congratulate him on getting Armstrong and to say she'll be dreaming about him but he hung up on her. She also mentioned since Armstrong was dirty, it could overturn some of his convictions so perhaps she'll be free soon. Something to consider.
