Officers Harper and Nolan respond to a bank robbery in progress and realize the motives of the thief run much deeper than just needing money. Meanwhile, Officers Jackson and Chen’s first day riding without training officers isn’t what they thought it would be.
Nolan's son, Henry, and his buddy, Ben, return. Anxious to see them both.

Bradford helping Lopez pick out a wedding dress is a little unbelievable.

Spoilers Ahead:
Chen and West are pretty excited to no longer be boots. They expect a little fanfare at rollcall especially since Jackson's father told him they gave him a bottle of Scotch. Of course, there was no gift or even acknowledgement of their accomplishment. They were a little disappointed but they are P2s and get to ride together their first day. Chen tells Jackson they can't turn on the air conditioner until after lunch, then she says, "Wait, that's Tim's rule!" She happily turns on the air and Jackson turns on some music saying Lopez never let him listen to music. They are reveling in their new found freedom.
West's parents are taking him out to dinner to celebrate and Chen is making dinner for her parents to celebrate. Chen's mom stops by, her dad had plans with the guys and her mom made it clear she wasn't there to celebrate but to tell her it was time to get a real job and for her to do something they could be proud of. Chen is crushed and asks her to leave. West's parents were great and gave him a St Michael necklace as the patron saint of the police. When West found out what had happened with Chen's mom he presented her with her own St Michael's necklace.
Poor Lucy.
Nolan and Harper get called to a bank robbery. Nolan slips inside and manages to talk the robber down, but the guard shoots him as he's giving up. Nolan thinks there is more to it and wants to pursue it especially when they find out the man's wife and daughter are missing. Harper tells him to let it go, their shift is over and the detectives will take it from there. You know Nolan can't let it go though. He finds out where the wife works and talks Harper into going there the next morning to try and talk to her. Nolan stops the wife as she comes in. The bad guys kidnapped her and her daughter and forced her husband to rob the bank. When that didn't work, they forced the wife to rob the jewelry store where she worked. Nolan gets Chen and West involved to find the girl while Harper stalls the bad guys. Everything works out great and Chen and West get their attaboy from Gray & he puts them up for Distinguished Service medals. Personally I thought Nolan did more than they did.
Lopez is in crisis over her wedding. I'm sure being pregnant has a lot to do with it. Her bridesmaids are driving her crazy about the wedding dress trying to steer her to something she doesn't want and she's afraid whatever deserts and other things she picks will get overridden by her future MIL so she texts Tim. He comes to her aid and tells her to get the dress she wants and to proudly show off her baby bump. He also tells her to pick the things she wants for her wedding. She asks him to be her Man of Honor and his 1st task is to fire her BFF the Maid of Honor. I can't believe that Tim would agree to be a Man of Honor but he does. I'm sure he'll plan a great Bachelorette party. That was sarcastic, BTW.
Currie Graham returns as Ben. He's there to celebrate Nolan graduating his rookie year but Nolan has to tell him he has another month to go. Ben drops a bomb that Nolan's son has accepted a job with him. Nolan is really upset when he discovers Henry has dropped out of school. I'm glad to see Ben back. I like it when Nolan has a good friend to talk to. Of course I don't know how much he will be around.
