Has anyone been watching Stranger Things on Netflix? Just like the name suggests it's really strange, but I am really into it! It scored me some points with my son who usually thinks I watch stupid stuff.

Has anyone been watching American Gothic (CBS)? TVJunkie? Anyone? I watched the 1st one and wasn't sure I'd get into it, so DVRed a whole bunch and just recently got caught up. WOW, I am in so much suspense. I can't wait for the next episode. Who's the killer, who's the accomplice? Every time you think we're close to a solution, they throw another monkey wrench into it. As you get to know the characters you don't want them to be the bad guys but you fear they may be.

The stars are kids and one of their little friends goes missing so the others try to find out what happens. They're around 12. The missing boy's mother (Wynona Ryder) seems to be off her rocker, but eventually the mother convinces the police chief that something more sinister is going on and the other kids come to the same conclusion and are generally ahead of the adults in figuring out what is happening. It is beyond strange but I loved it. Zac was talking about it at Nerd HQ so I decided to check it out.

Did anyone watch This Is Us or Designated Survivor?? I really enjoyed TIU. Jon said he's in most episodes and his first one is next week. DS was pretty good too, but I've learned to watch a few episodes before I decide if they're going to continue to be as good as the pilot episode.
Also watched Bull, but didn't really enjoy it. I've never watched Michael Weatherly in anything before and I wasn't impressed. He seems a little one note to me.
I think I've been forever spoiled by Castle.

I watched a little bit of Bull. I started watching Macgyver and fell asleep before it was over. I loved your comment about enough with the reboots on your twitter account. CBS Friday night has MacGyver and Hawaii 50 both reboots and now someone is talking about bringing back Cagney and Lacy. I agree enough already. I too was spoiled rotten.

I also watched This Is Us and was very impressed! They did a great job of establishing the main characters and their issues and the twist at the end, revealing how the 3 birthday celebrants were related was fantastic. Left me gobsmacked!
I love Gerald McRaney and IMO, his performance stole the show. He hit every emotional note but never let it get mushy. I can't wait to see where the story goes this week. I'm wondering if we'll continue to see more than one time setting or if that was just for the sake of the reveal in the pilot. My guess is that now we'll stay in 2016 and follow the 3 main characters. I'm anxious to see Jon in his new role.
I missed Designated Survivor but have heard several people say how much they enjoyed it. I'm going to try to find it somewhere before Wednesday.
The other premier that I missed and am curious about is Pitch. Anyone watch that?

I think my question about the time jump got answered last night. NBC reran the This Is Us pilot and afterwards, they showed a different promo from Tuesday than they did last week. This new one had a scene of the kids as toddlers so it looks like we'll at least have flashbacks. Didn't catch Jon in anything but I think he'll be in episode 2.

I've been DVRing the new stuff and I'm hopelessly behind in watching everything. I finally saw This is Us. Big surprise ending. I enjoyed it. My husband seemed rather lukewarm about it. I'll certainly watch more of it.

Jon has said his first episode is the second one and that he's in most of them after that. He's supposed to be the best friend of one of the characters but I can't remember which one, maybe the "actor"?
