I saw Pitch. I wasn't interested in it to begin with. I thought it was well written and acted and had a surprise ending. I think it would have been fine as a tv movie but I'm not interested in seeing more. I just don't care for the whole premise of a girl moving up to the big leagues. However my husband liked it so I guess we will be watching at least a few more episodes.
I also saw Designated Survivor. I had high expectations for this show and I wasn't disappointed. The whole premise is scary to think about. Some lowly cabinet member (Kiefer Sutherland) is suddenly thrust into the presidency due to an attack on the capitol building. I expect this show to be a winner.
Bull. I really wanted to like this show since I like Michael Weatherly. I thought the 1st half hour was pretty boring and then I dozed off so if it got more exciting I didn't know about it. I'll watch a few episodes before I make up my mind.
Notorious - I was excited for this because I really like the stars, Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs) & Daniel Sunjata (Graceland). A high powered lawyer and top TV producer work together to spin the news to their advantage. I enjoyed the first episode and think this is a story line that can tap into lots of stories unlike Pitch where I can't imagine what stories they will tell after the pilot.
Lethal Weapon - I was a huge fan of the movies so had to try this. Definitely not the same as with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover but it was good enough to watch some more episodes before we decide if it's a keeper.

I've been DVRing the new stuff and I'm hopelessly behind in watching everything. I finally saw This is Us. Big surprise ending. I enjoyed it. My husband seemed rather lukewarm about it. I'll certainly watch more of it. Saw Esposito tonight as the young Dad's friend. He was good. I really like the fat guy, he's fun. Boy, another big surprise at the end!

I also watched the second episode of This Is Us and am drawn to it more than ever. Just based on the description of Jon's part - the best friend of a character, I figured he'd only be in one or maybe two scenes. However, when he showed up at the door at the end and I realized he was going to be see in both time frames, I got to thinking that he might just be a strong supporting character.
That was another really great surprise. In the 1980's scene he's wearing a wedding ring and I figure that the mom (can't remember her name) still had the necklace on because her husband died, so I'm thinking they were a later hookup, after tragedy struck. They did a good job of setting up the reveal with Miguel reminding the husband about how great his wife was and we could hear the envy that Miguel had for him.
IBM, I'm totally with you about the character of Toby! He is soooooo thoughtful and yet funny and seems to have a good attitude towards life. I thoroughly enjoy him in every scene.
I'll definitely continue to follow this show through the fall at least.

What was up with Jon's makeup job at the end of the episode. It looked like a horrible attempt at aging him! He looked like they had dumped a bucket of ashes over his head. LOL

Still enjoying Designated Survivor and This is Us. Bull on the other hand is still boring me. And I can't decide if it's Michael Weatherly himself or the character, but I can't stand that guy. Also not really a fan of any of the characters in that show.

I saw Conviction and I liked it. I also like Notorious. Both shows are on the 8 worst show list, but then again so is This is Us which a lot of us here seem to like. www.oregonlive.com/tv/2016/09/fall_tv_2016_9_new_shows_to_wa.html#18. I seem to have a history of liking shows others don't like. Last year it was Second Chance and Stalker and they both bit the dust. Of course, I've only seen the 1st episodes of Conviction and Notorious so they may fall from favor.

I liked it and will definitely watch again. These two leads HAD chemistry, unlike Conviction IMO. Conviction's rating was lowered to a 0.9 for their premiere so I wouldn't get too attached to it IBM.

I just checked out Frequency (CW) and Westworld (HBO). Frequency is based loosely on the movie starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. I thought it was very intriguing and will definitely be watching more to see where it leads.
Westworld is also loosely based on the movie starring James Brolin and Yul Brenner because no one has any new ideas. I would probably have to watch several episodes to be able to care about what is going on and that is not going to happen. I predict that it will get several Emmy nominations because there are a lot of naked people walking around and a lot of gratuitous violence.

I'm glad you gave your thoughts on Westworld because I've seen a lot of talk about it and was going to check it out. Sounds like maybe it's not worth my time.

Don't go by me. I'm often at odds with popular opinion. The concept is interesting where the robots start feeling and caring about their lot in life. I just don't think it's for me.

Yeah, well that doesn't sound like my kind of concept either. But then I never ever would have thought I'd be a Game of Thrones fan until I watched it. I could do without some of the graphic violence and gratuitous nudity, but the compelling story dragged me in.

Once again I tried watching "Conviction" and once again it put me to sleep. This week it scored .9 before any adjustments. I am just waiting to see how long it will be before it is moved or cancelled. Since Dungey's sister is it in I would not be surprised if it got a full season.

Westworld - We set this up to record the series. I didn't like the pilot which was a groundhog day kind of show, showing the same scenes over and over with slight variations. However there were more episodes on the DVR and I went ahead and watched a couple more. It's kind of sucking me in. The robots are supposed to have a storyline that they repeat every day. It varies depending on how guests interact with them. Some of the robots are going off script. Is it a virus or is someone monkeying around with their programming? There are a lot of storylines going on with the guests (who are mostly disgusting people wanting to act out their depraved fantasies where it is entirely legal), the robots, the behind the scenes maintenance people, narrative writers, programmers, etc, and the man in black. What exactly is his story? I also read some speculation from viewers about what they think may be going on and that really opened my eyes making me view things in a new light. I think the robots are probably going to be the most interesting 'people' and have the best storylines. I'm going to stick with it for a while. I could be a politician with my changing viewpoints! There are a lot characters but I don't feel like there are too many to keep track of. It's the kind of show that you're not totally sure what is going on, but you're experiencing it 'real time' along with the robots and the people investigating why they are going off script and other storylines. Sir Anthony Hopkins is the co-founder of Westworld. He always speaks in that grandfatherly voice of his, but you wonder if his role might be more sinister then it seems. Nothing is wrapped up neatly at the end of an episode. Instead you have more questions. I think this show will take a commitment to patiently watch it unfold and evolve.
