Spoilers Ahead! This week there are new rookies. Tim is a rookie detective & finds his locker full of boots. Harper gets a new rookie who has the same name as a notorious murderer who was finally exonerated. Oh wait, it's the actual guy! Harper is less than thrilled and plans to find a way to get rid of him knowing that guilty or innocent his notoriety is going to constantly get in the way of the job. By the end of the episode, Harper warms up to Thorsen slightly and isn't so intent on getting rid of him. I was warming up to him too and hope it works out. His story is interesting having been accused of murdering his roommate in France much like the Amanda Knox case in Italy. Nolan is teamed with Chen in a fun pairing. He is studying to be a TO and treats Chen as his Boot (with her permission of course) They pull over a beautiful woman, Claire Ivey, for speeding & discover she is a notorious high-profile thief, only suspected never arrested. They spend the rest of the episode following her & trying to thwart her next heist. Nolan runs into his neighbor, Bailey, the firefighter, at a crime scene and asks her out. Even though she spent the night, she later texts to break up with Nolan. He tracks her down and persuades her to give him a chance. I don't know how I feel about her. At the crime scene she said she needed to get going because the guys couldn't do anything without her. It was so condescending and not something a supervisor should be saying about subordinates. Then she texts Nolan to break up with him which is also not cool. Of course Angela and Wesley are rookie parents, sitting at home trying to be quiet enough to keep the baby asleep. Apparently the baby is to be heard and not seen. We just heard the occasional cry from the other room. Chen is still dealing with Jackson's death and is unable to decide how to redecorate his room for Tamara. Finally she lets Tamara take the reins and put her own design spin on the room. Lucy heartily approved. This episode was packed full of content and extremely well-written by Brynn Malone. The transitions between all of the different storylines was flawless. I'm excited for this season. Quote: Grey, "You get anything more on Ivey?" Nolan, "Car envy."
