This was a fun episode, you know, other than all the people dying. A treasure map has people coming from all over the US to try to find the treasure. A thief who is terminally ill is behind it. He wants to have a little fun by creating chaos and giving his loot to whoever can figure out the clues. Since people are killing each other over the prospect of becoming rich, the police are determined to find it before anybody else gets killed. Lucy works with Nolan and Harper and is having a blast figuring out the clues. They are trying to beat Bradford and old-timer McGrady to the treasure. McGrady remembers the original robbery and is instrumental in getting Bradford to the treasure first.
Thorsen takes over Nolan's campaign to become the union rep and comes up with better posters and slogans. I think he'll do a good job.
Nolan goes to a fireman's party with Bailey and meets her Lieutenant, Fred Mitchell. At the party Nolan discovers many cans of acetone and suspects Mitchell of being the serial killer they are searching for. Bailey breaks into Fred's house searching for for evidence that he is the killer. She narrowly gets out with the evidence she needs. Nolan was mad at her for doing that but said what she found can get them the search warrant they need. I don't think you can use illegally gotten evidence to get a search warrant but I guess that works in TV land. He takes Bailey with him to meet Harper and serve the warrant on Mitchell then tells her she shouldn't be there. Why did he even bring her? Before they finish arguing about it the house explodes and... (the end of the episode)
Not a fan of the cliff hanger!
It was a pretty heart-warming segment watching Officer Jerry McGrady spend a really fun last shift with Bradford on the treasure hunt. Then his retirement is announced in the squad in front of all the officers and Jerry's daughter, Ashley. She seemed to really hit it off with Bradford. I liked her immediately and would love to see her and Bradford get together.
