S4 E18; Backstabbers

I really enjoyed this episode.

Badger's back! Larry, who washed out on his 1st day as a cop a while back is back! I've always liked that guy and don't even know his name! Now he is a train cop and gets involved in a theft and murder at the train yards with Chen and Nolan. Nolan is supportive but later Harper and Lopez are dismissive. Things turn around when Larry cracks the case. In a twist, Lucy who is tired of Bradford getting all the credit when they make a bust and is determined to get the credit on this case, lets Larry get the collar.

While Chen and Nolan were riding together, Thorsen got paired with Bradford. Bradford mentioned that every cop has a super power. For instance, Harper is a chameleon. As the day wears on it seems that Thorsen's super power is having knowledge about being wealthy. In the end Tim tells him his time in jail has made him understanding and empathetic and that may be his superpower.

Wesley wants to educate people about what to do if they are pulled over by the cops. James' son, Silas, suggests they make a video. They enlist Sgt Grey to play the cop. Silas is a little frustrated at the wooden performances but he makes it work.

The best part! Nyla proposes to James in a very matter of fact way. James is caught off guard but says yes. Later he admits he wanted to do it, but he wanted to be the one to propose and he wanted to make sure Nyla wanted to marry him for the right reasons. They had a very good adult conversation that made it seem like they are perfect to be together. Then James gets down on one knee and proposed with ring in hand. Nyla accepts. Lopez helps her get a dress and helps to make arrangements for the reception although Thorsen pulled some strings to make it really nice. Nyla has a beautiful, pregnancy wedding dress. It's a great party with Silas acting as DJ and all their friends in attendance. Everyone was dancing and having a good time. The Chenford fans even got a nice dance from Tim and Lucy and Tim praised Lucy as a cop and said he would list her as arresting officer in the future. Nolan and Bailey were also dancing a lot. In all the shows that I have seen Nathan dance in, he has always dipped his partner. I kept waiting for it to happen but it didn't.

Silas was acting as the DJ and ended up showing a blooper reel of the video about getting pulled over, but he also secretly recorded James proposing to Nyla and played that as well. What a beautiful evening! I am so happy that they didn't decide to have some kind of drama in the middle of it. I'm really impressed that they devoted 6 mins to the wedding reception. It was great.

Since they didn't ruin the episode with drama, I will. Does anyone think the baby is Harper's ex-husband's? That seems like something a show would do for drama.
