Yeah, and don’t even get me started on how blasé she was in Ep. 601 when she told Castle he had 24 hours to live. ::face palm::

That was good, thanks. That scene where he has to tell them who knows about Locksat is so heartwrenching. This video even emphasized it more with flashbacks. I can't get over how Kate says, "He's the love of my life". It couldn't have been more emotionless. I noticed that in the finale and again in this video. There were several times this season when I thought Beckett's lack of emotion was weird. There was another scene when Castle got kidnapped and Beckett and Martha are watching the videotape of two guys knocking him out and throwing him in the back of the van (can't remember which episode). Martha is very upset and Beckett just seems totally unconcerned. It was so weird. Don't know if it was directed that way or just acted that way, but it happened several times in S8. That's so funny that you mention that! I remember seeing that episode, and Martha and Alexis were so alarmed and shocked. Meanwhile it looked like Beckett was picturing her inheritance! No matter what my have been happening between Nathan and Stana, I never saw a false moment from Nathan (although I'm fairly biased in my view of him). Stana, however, seemed to have trouble showing a lovers concern for Rick when he was in danger sometimes. I don't mean to offend anyone or start any problems, just making a personal observation.

When she was no longer the center of attention her attitude seemed to change. She seemed annoyed and bored at times.

Eye Roll And yet Castle was so concerned that SHE would be okay if he died. I never understood how emotionless she was in that scene.

Moderator Note
Some interesting observations, but for now let's move on from the Beckett/Stana criticisms. Even though we are predominately Nathan fans, we don't want to make those who are also Stana fans feel unwelcome. This is not to say criticisms are not allowed but I think we've spent enough time discussing Beckett's emotional responses. Time to move on to more fun stuff!

Things must really be slow in TV Land. Some clickbait site is trying to reopen the "Feud"

Things must really be slow in TV Land. Some clickbait site is trying to reopen the "Feud" Yeah, this is always the slowest time of the year. The shows don't start filming for their new seasons until July so there are few spoilers for other shows. Even our favorite actors from Castle seem to be taking some down time. Hopefully things will pick up some in the next few weeks.

Sharing a little story from yesterday.....We went to the Dallas Arboretum with my daughter and son-in-law (it's large gardens with beautiful flowers). We were walking along and there was a group on a bench.. Overheard from one of the women to a younger girl with them "you don't watch Castle? You look exactly like his daughter!" My daughter and I both perked up and looked back and the girl really did look a lot like Molly Quinn.....red hair and fair skin and similar features. My daughter couldn't help tease me about going back and making friends with these people. I didn't have the heart to see if they knew it was cancelled.

So Castle ended up ranked 38 out of 148. It ranked higher then many of the ABC shows that were renewed. It ranked higher then many of the CBS NBC and Fox shows that were renewed. Naturally cancelling made perfect sense to Ms. Dungey. AS for me I agree with the lady on TC's twitter page who said no wonder ABC is number 4. They only cancel quality shows that people watch.

I was just coming here to post this same info, but you beat me to it! Sad to think the show was still doing so much better than renewed shows. SHIELD and OUAT had less than half the average that Castle had all season. As crappy as some thought S8 was (I wasn't one of them), there were still 10 million people watching every episode this season. And that lady who replied to me on Twitter was exactly right!!

I read an interesting story about SK and another reason she may have been let go. She apparently was given an astronomical increase in salary to come back for season 8. She was number 6 on Forbes highest paid TV actresses earning 12 million a year. The writers theory was there was no negotiating on her contract and maybe if they had not asked for so much they would have asked her back. The new season will soon be upon us and I do not look forward to Monday nights.

I find myself not even caring about spoiler articles on any shows or anything about the new TV season. Hoping I can find something that I like, but I know I'll never find another show that hooked me from the first promo like Castle did. Not really going to comment on the Castle mess. It's over and done and I wish everyone would just move on I guess. All I will say is that I've thought all along that her contract demands may have played a large part in her not returning. Maybe some day we'll hear more. I wish all the cast well.

Is the amount listed what they were paid for their show or all their earnings? Stana was in a couple of movies. Does that money figure in?
