I read an interesting story about SK and another reason she may have been let go. She apparently was given an astronomical increase in salary to come back for season 8. She was number 6 on Forbes highest paid TV actresses earning 12 million a year. The writers theory was there was no negotiating on her contract and maybe if they had not asked for so much they would have asked her back. The new season will soon be upon us and I do not look forward to Monday nights. I have never seen the list of highest paid TV actresses before. Is the amount listed what they were paid for their show or all their earnings? Stana was in a couple of movies. Does that money figure in? Forbes does one every year. It is just TV work. I do wonder about Sophia Vegaras. Is hers just what she gets from Modern Family or does it include commercials and print ads. I doubt Katic makes much money from her films. They all seem to be low budget. What I want to know is what does most of her money is on the backend mean Does it mean she would get a huge lump sum payment at the end of the season I found out what it is she gets money from everything relating to the show. Reruns books movies and I my opinion there will be a movie. I just hope they do not screw it up like they have all the other ones. You know use the name and the movies in no way shape or form has anything to do with the show. |

And it's my understanding "backend" items include syndication residuals, DVD and book sales, things like that. I think Sophia Vergara's amount stated that it included her endorsements too, not just Modern Family. I doubt Stana made much money at all from the indie movies. |

TNT has really whacked up the way it is showing episodes. They are no longer consecutive. Tuesday have season 7 episodes then they show the season 8 openers then back to 7. Same goes for 6. Last episode for season 5 next day 6 episode 1 is not on but something from the middl;e.

That's a show I could never get into. |

Yeah, I was upset to see Castle was taken out of the mid-afternoon rotation. I'm not interested in Arrow. I always thought that the Bones/Castle block was a nice combination that I could watch any time.
However, I will say that the moment I saw a season 8 episode of Castle on TNT, I turned off the TV. I refuse to torture myself again with season 8.

I do miss my afternoons with Castle but must admit I got a lot more done last week than I usually do! Also saw several new evening shows without the conflict of interest between TNT and other networks.

If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't Bridget Moynahan originally one of the final actresses in the quest to find Beckett? I can't believe that Castle would have ever been as successful if she and NF had been partnered together.

If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't Bridget Moynahan originally one of the final actresses in the quest to find Beckett? I can't believe that Castle would have ever been as successful if she and NF had been partnered together. I remember reading that. I can't really picture her in the Beckett role but maybe she would have risen to the task and been totally different from her Blue Bloods role. There are others I thought would be good as Beckett like Jennifer Bealls. Perhaps the last couple of seasons wouldn't have been so bad if someone else had been in the role that wasn't at odds with Nathan. |
