Recap: S2E6 Homecoming Pete, Berg, and Sharon are determined to show up their friends that return for Homecoming S2E7 Internship Pete finally gets an internship, but will his rendevouzes in the copy room jeopardize his job? On 7/25 we'll review S2E8 Wedding and S2E9 Oxford
We need more people to participate! I'm going to try to jump in, though I know I've missed a lot. I have the DVDs, so hopefully I can join in easily. I love Nathan in this show! And Kelly, I agree with you that Nathan has never pulled me out of a scene by "acting." I've watched everything I could that he's in, and I've never seen a false or fake moment. He truly inhabits his characters, no matter how diverse they are.

So I was watching the Con Man panel on Screen Junkies Central and Nolan North was talking about how he auditioned for TGaGaaPP, but the role went to Ryan Reynolds. Later they brought him back to audition for Sharon's boyfriend but that role went to Nathan. Poor guy. I think the casting guys did good though.

And Nathan had no idea before Nolan told the story. I'd like to personally thank the casting people of TGaGaaPP!! I'm having so much fun watching this series. No idea how I missed when it was airing originally.

Like you, I'm already well into season 3, but I love discussing the episodes with others so I just go back and review them before we discuss them.

Just an interesting thing I caught today about Nathan and Two Guys (I think it was in the NerdHQ ConMan panel if you watch it). Can't even remember the question or the discussion but Nathan mentioned that he wasn't happy with his performances in the last season of the sitcom he did (he only did this sitcom, right?) He said that's when Joss told him to stop trying to make people laugh and just let them laugh at you. He said that's when the lightbulb went off and it made a big difference for him.
So not I'm curious to watch S4 and see if I agree with him. He's been awesome so far so I think he's a lot harder and more critical on himself than fans would be.

I really enjoyed the Wedding. Pete doesn't want to go to his ex-girlfriend's wedding but the gang talks him into it. He obsesses the whole episode about it, hoping that Katie gained a lot of weight, and later giving a cringe worthy wedding speech. Sharon is scared to death that Johnny will show up in a cranberry crushed velvet tux. It turns out her bridesmaid's dress is much more hideous than anything Johnny could wear. Johnny shows up in a normal tux looking like a prince. I loved it when he ripped the sleeves and bow off the dress and it looked normal. Berg tries to get Ashley to go with him to the wedding just as friends. She reluctantly agrees and Berg treats her terrible at the wedding, dancing all evening with another girl and calling Ashley his pal, amigo, friend. After they share a tango (I loved their tango!), they realize there is something between them, then Ashley drops the bombshell that she has a boyfriend. I loved the closing scene when they were all doing all the dances - the sprinkler, lawnmower, Charlie's Angels Pete got the best lines - "Hold on, let me blow up your floaties." & "I'm the Wizard of Ahs"

After my chaotic weekend, I need to catch up on a slew of stuff but I'll try to watch the 2 episodes and comment sometime soon.

I watched Wedding and enjoyed it. I think it's kind of ironic that Johnny, the blue collar handyman, is the one who owns his own tux. If he's been in several weddings, it's a testament to just how good of a friend he is. Nathan looks sooooooo great in a tux! The dancing at the end was a hoot! I like how Ashley came clean with Berg and admitted she had feelings for him finally. Sharon's dress was AWFUL! It sure did look like swimmies on the arms. Nice that the sleeves were 'detachable!'

Just finished Oxford. DANG! Now Nathan's in a suit and white shirt and tie! Love him dressed up and when he took off that hat, the hair was magnificent!!!!! Speaking of hair, Sharon's is absolutely a wreck in the first part of the episode. Good grief! Is that really considered a style? What a surprising twist when Ashley announces that her boyfriend is coming to Boston. I felt so BAD for Berg! Of course, I'd totally presumed she had gone to break up with the guy. The husbands bribing Pete to escort their wives, was perfect. I'm watching these on You Tube and, for some reason, I'm not getting the full picture, despite watching it in full screen mode. I was especially frustrated with this one when Pete and Sharon and Johnny were sitting in the limo watching Berg. I know they showed Johnny being emotional and he was totally cut out of my picture. Any thoughts or suggestions?

S2E10 Thanksgiving S2E11 LimoMy random observations about the episodes: Wedding: Nathan has been best man 7 times! He's obviously a great friend! Berg is not too smooth talking about another girl while heading home to have sex with an old flame! My God does Nathan rock a tux! Whew! The dances at the end were great. Oxford: How cute is Nathan in that chauffeur suit and hat?! I can't really explain why, but I never liked Ashley in this show. When that woman tells Pete to stand up so she can see what his butt looks like, then tips him $300, I thought that she was lucky it wasn't Johnny-she'd have written him into the will after seeing his bubble butt! I really enjoyed the commentary of the three in the truck pretending they were at the movies. Nathan crying and saying "don't look at me" with his sad little face was so cute!

Any thoughts or suggestions? I guess it just depends on how the poster formatted it. The one I watched had the full picture but it was small and framed like you were sitting in a movie theater.

Yes. the show is framed like you are in a movie theater. I think they did that because it's not very good quality and if they made it bigger, it would really degrade the picture quality. At least on my screen, I'm seeing the full available picture. At the end when Johnny was emotional and turned away, most of his face was hidden. I didn't say anything about Oxford before. Johnny looked great in his chauffeur suit. Poor Berg jetting off to Europe to find Ashley when she was in Mississippi. I think Ashley is the person that you love to hate. She's pretty caustic most of the time, although she seemed more human in the last 2 episodes. It was so funny how Pete was such a hit with the old ladies. He was terrified when their husbands showed up, but couldn't believe his good fortune when they paid him to take them out more! Nathan is mostly in the background, just kind of window dressing. It makes me wonder if they brought him in as a temporary boyfriend for Sharon, but then discovered how great he was and made him a permanent cast member.
