Finished reading the two S9 chapters. Definitely like #2 better than the first. But then I guess I'm a sucker for the pregnancy storyline. But I also loved the nod and  to Waitress in #2 at the OB's office. Pie artwork on the walls and Dr. Pomatter.  I've never been a fan of case driven pics but I like fan fiction so I'll keep reading them but it's definitely no substitute for a real S9 and Nathan on my screen weekly.  And I'm sure some will be better than others based on the writers, just as some episodes were better than others. I guess I'm hoping they focus more on Caskett than case heavy pics, but that's just my preference. |

I want to read this. I plan to read this, but I found season 8 so depressing that I'm having trouble coming up with the desire to see what could have come next. I know it's just fanfic but part of me just wants to pretend that the show ended with Hollander's Woods and leave it at that.

However, maybe just take it as pure AU fanfic as any other AU fanfic you may have read? I'm enjoying it and really not relating it to the actual show per se. |

I thought 3 was the best written one so far. But I've read several of the authors fics and really like them. I think this episode did the best job with the case/character mix in the episode...most like an actual Castle episode. |

The story did an excellent of mixing all the elements of a good episode of Castle. |

I didn't think episode 1 was very good. The writing was just not very good. I didn't read 2 or 3.
The writing was much better in episode 4. The case was pretty good, but Castle was reduced to a bit part. There was no real banter. Castle had no interesting theories, no alternate thinking to help break the case open, no cracking of jokes to lighten Kate's worry. Even when the boys find themselves in a tight spot, they would normally joke or make light of the situation, but there was none of that. This 'season 9' just doesn't seem to be a good substitute for the TV show - at least for me. I certainly have to applaud their monumental effort and dedication for doing this though.

I would much rather be watching it on the TV but the story I found to be well written. It had a interesting plot line and it get my attention. Castle had some serious episodes where Castle never cracked a joke or teased Beckett. This would have been one. |

I hardly ever read fanfiction any more and I don't bother unless it's a really good writer so I think this will be hit or miss. I think I only recognized one of the authors working on this project.
As for this episode, I think the opening scene will suck you in and the fact that I finished it says that overall it was pretty good.
