How about mentioning your family's traditions around Christmas. Anything special your family does? I know some are from other countries so what they do could be interesting. I'll start.
Thanksgiving evening we break out the Christmas music. We listen to the music my husband grew up listening to. A lot of it my family listened to as well. Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, The Carpenters. They also had an album by Robert Goulet and my husband and his sister love singing "Hurry Home for Christmas". My husband has a deep voice and sounds great singing it but there are a few lines that Goulet sings really fast. It's hard to sing those lines and over the years my kids and their cousin have grown up trying to get the words right. It's fun. We all laugh and look forward to trying to sing it. Of course my husband and his sister are always perfect.
We put up a tree and have a party Christmas eve and do gifts on Christmas. Sometimes we drive around and look at Christmas lights, but singing that silly Robert Goulet song will always be one of my dominant Christmas memories.
Go ahead and try to sing it. The 1st fast line is at 24 secs. "jingle bells won't jingle not a single jingle baby." The mistletoe line later on always messes me up.

My Mother loved Robert Goulet so he was heard a lot at our house. Today I played a couple of Christmas CDs lit a pine scented candle and baked a pie. It actually feels like Christmas season today. It is chilly outside. That Mistletoe line was a mouthful.

My family had the stomach flu so I'm running way behind this year. I usually have all of my Christmas cards done by the first weekend of December but I'm just sending the last of them out now. And my daughter is going to have to do cookie baking with my mom because I'm having surgery on my hand on Tuesday. But overall, this is still turning out to be a good holiday season. Everyone is healthy and happy and we'll be spending both Christmas Eve and Christmas day with family so all is good. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!

Our Christmas traditions change every year depending on whether we're going to family or family is coming to us. Seems like no two years are ever the same. My holiday has been blessed already with a new Canadian baby grandson born on the 14th. He was 6 weeks early but weighed in at 4 lbs. 14 oz and is doing really well. Hoping he'll be home from NICU before Christmas. We're headed up there on the 26th and would love to have him home by then. He did better than his 3 year old brother who was born 8 weeks early at 3 lbs 9 oz and was in NICU for 5 weeks, but is a healthy happy 3 year old now. My daughter says she just has "eager" babies. LOL Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year!! xmas ornament

ibmjas - Although the surgery will leave me one handed for a week or two, it saves me a couple of thousand dollars to do it now because I’ve already met my deductible for 2016. Plus, it gets me out of cooking for the holiday. It’s not that I can’t cook, but I don’t particularly enjoy it and I find cooking for the holidays stressful, so I get to just sit back and enjoy this one. tckelly - Congrats on the new grand baby. What a wonderful Christmas present. I hope he’s home safe and sound when you arrive. My sister just had a little girl this fall, my first niece. She was having labor pains when she was only six months along and it was touch and go for quite a while. Ironically, the baby ended up being born five days late! I won’t be able to type much after tomorrow so I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

I love Nathan's tree!!! Seen several comments to this pic from fans that actually gave him some of those ornaments at cons. The Capt Hammer a fan said they gave him in Moscow recently. I think it's really sweet that he keeps them and actually uses them on his tree. Love it!!! It's all his characters. His Johnny Worthington from Monsters U in the writer's vest is adorable. http://instagram.com/p/BONZO-mjHTZ Guessing the cloth (?) gift bags are being environmentally friendly? And I still laugh every time I see his motorcycle parked in the house. Some of them really are works of art. LOL Also I find myself closely examining his shelves. (No, "Shelves is NOT code for something naughty! ) Someone said you can tell a lot about a person by their shelves. Makes sense.

They look like knapsacks. Like something you would take to the beach. I was wondering if he bought new beach stuff for everyone for the tropical get away.
