Another costar for The Rookie. She plays the Captain. She's only 35. To me that seems pretty young to be a Captain but I don't know anything about the workings of a real police precinct. She appeared in the Castle episode "He's dead, She's dead". Did a little research and apparently you can make Captain in as little as 9 years. So if she started right out of college being a Captain is feasible. How old was Beckett making captain? Same situation I guess. I really like the cast they've assembled. And kudos to them for the diversity which reflects the actual mix you'd likely find in the LAPD. Lots of women in authority here. |

I'm getting really excited for it also!! Loved the comment on the table read. I wonder if they will do that for each episode, unlike Castle, or if it's just for the first one. And yes, too long to wait!!  |

Mercedes Mason has a two month old baby! I wonder if she will be bringing him to set. Maybe we'll get some BTS baby whisperer pics!  I'd love to see a group BTS pic of all of them together. |

According to Rupert Cole (@therupert, crewman on The Rookie), The Rookie pilot starts filming next week. The rest of season one starts filming in July.

I noticed that the other two people have ear protection. I think I remember reading that Nathan had some hearing loss in one ear. I hope he protects his ears if they are doing some real shooting next time.
Yes, Nathan is definitely looking fit and trim. Hopefully, with the way they will shoot this show, he will not have so many 16 hr days and nights. I think that contributed to his baggy eyes and putting on weight during Castle. I think he has learned a lot since then about shooting schedules.

I think everyone is required to wear ear protection in a shooting range so Nathan probably had just taken his off and the others haven't. It's nice to see that he hasn't had the continuing congenital issues with his right eye that popped up so often. Hopefully he had some treatment to take care of it because in the acting profession to never know when it will flare up and cause a filming issue. |

OK, I'm confused. Everything I've read so far says John Nolan is the oldest rookie in the LAPD. Today I keep seeing that they are filming in Oxnard and have turned a street into an East Coast street. I've seen several tweets saying it's the East Coast.

Maybe Nolan is on NYC looking at the police force there before he comes to LAPD? I hope they don't switch it to a NYC show when they are filming in LA? More production cost of they have to look like the other coast.
I wish I could zip over to L A for a couple of days to watch the filming on location. That is always fun to watch.
