Here's our first look! I already can't wait! Not only is he the oldest rookie, he's also the rookie with the best hair!! I really loved this "first look". I'm shocked that it is all serious, none of the humor. But apparently we will be getting a full trailer next week after its shown at ABC Upfronts so that will likely include both the drama and the humor. I think they're trying to indicate with this first look that it's not a comedy show and it is the story of a man starting over. I can't wait!!  |

I was so excited to actually see some footage of the show! I agree about the lack of a lighter moment but I have no doubt that we'll see that in future clips. Good thing he's in such great shape now because it sure looks like he'll be getting a workout in some episodes! Can't wait to, once again, have him in my home every week! Cheering banana

I don't think we'll see the level of humor that Castle had but there were still some lighter moments with quips and cute facial expressions. It's more drama than comedy but I get the feeling there'll be enough lighter moments to keep the show from becoming too dark. I'm definitely excited to see it unfold!

Here's the Rookie trailer. It looks great! Still no humor though. Have to agree with NathanFan, I definitely think the humor will be there. All cops use gallows humor to get them through the day. I love the trailer!! Can't wait to see more. Can't wait for more BTS from the cast during filming! They seem to all be having a blast working together. |

Found an interview from Canada with 3 cast members from The Rookie. The girl plays Nathan’s love interest. They all talk about Nathan being a good leader on set.

There's a third one out there I've seen that has an added short clip of a scene between Nathan and Mercedes Mason about his file and his cholesterol being the highest she's ever seen in a rookie. They seem to be adding a bit more humor into the promos, which is a good thing in my opinion. And I'm glad they're switching them up a little bit. I think there has been a Rookie promo in every ABC show that I've watched lately, including Take Two (which seems to upset a certain segment of Castle fans. |
