Hey everybody, our good friend Nathanfan took a nasty fall and badly hurt her arm. She's already had 3 surgeries on it. She's still in the hospital and will likely have to go to a rehab facility for awhile before she can go back home. She is such a sweet lady I really hate this for her. Please keep her in your prayers and send healing thoughts her way for a full recovery. Oh no, that's awful!! Was this recent right before the holidays? Hey NathanFan, sending you lots of love, prayers, and healing powers! You need a life size flat Nathan to stand beside your hospital bed and watch over you! Really hoping things improve quickly for you. Stay strong! I'm not exactly sure but I'm thinking the accident was probably Christmas Eve since her surgeries all occurred since Christmas day. She will be offline for a while, but I'm looking forward to having her back. Maybe she can watch Castle again while she's laid up. I'm sure she would love having Nathan watch over her!

NF has been moved to a hospital closer to her home. She could be there for 2 weeks while doing physical therapy. Of course, she's hoping to get out of there sooner. You can't keep a good woman down! Now that she is closer to home it will be easier for friends and family to visit. That should help with the healing.
We're wishing you the best NF! Pigtails

Hey NF! Thinking of you and hoping things are improving. Definitely doesn't sound like fun. Sending you so many hugs and good wishes for quick recovery. I'll tell you the same thing I told 777 about her physical therapy - just pretend you're reaching for Nathan when you do your exercises. Please keep us posted when you can on your recovery.

NF continues to make progress. Her specialists are pleased with her progress. She got her staples and stitches removed today. She's still in her metal contraption which is providing external fixation with pins sticking out of her arm. Some of her therapy consisted of learning to maneuver to make sure she doesn't knock her arm (and brace) into anything. Apparently they've scheduled the hardware to come off on Feb 6. I know it sounds like a long time, but a good result takes time.
Hang in there NF! We're all rooting for you! Cheering banana

Dang, Nathan's Fan, you really did a number on your arm. Pamper it, baby it, and protect it. Above all follow your doctors directions. I hope you heal completely and quickly.

I can't even imagine.

GREETINGS! I'm happy to report that I finally got home yesterday afternoon. 24 days in the hospital was NO fun. It seemed like it would never end.
I fell on Christmas Eve night and dislocated my left elbow, but when that happened, it severed my brachial artery. I had blood filling up my arm but no circulation to my hand for about 4 hours. I was rushed up to the Twin Cities to a great hospital and they pulled together a vascular team and an orthopedic team and started an extensive surgery as soon as I got there. In order to relieve the pressure from all of the blood in my arm, they had to slice me open from the palm of my hand up to my armpit and also slice open the outer side of my arm. They took a piece of vein from my thigh and used that to repair the artery so I have about a 5" incision there. In short, I'm a mess! However, they were able to save my hand and arm so I won't complain about all the scars!
Now that I'm home, I'll continue to work on getting my strength back and rehabbing my fingers. I have surgery scheduled for Feb. 8 to have this heavy steel device removed from my arm and then I'm sure I'll have some more rehabbing to get my range of motion back. At least there's a light at the end of this tunnel.
I have been so blessed to have so many great friends sharing their support and I count you all among them! I love the Nathan pics you've shared and Tycho even sent a card with a dreamy picture glued to the inside. There's nothing like looking at that man to put a smile on my face!
I hope to be back to enjoying all thing Nathan now, but typing is a one handed challenge so I may not have a lot to say just yet. Again, thank you all for your care and concern. It's really helped me to keep a positive attitude!

So glad to have you back! I can barely handle spending the night in the hospital so can't imagine spending close to a month there. Please be very careful but work hard to get your strength and mobility back. Remember Nathan is rooting for you!
