I'll give it a shot too but summer is such a hard time to stay committed to watching a show because there's so much else going on. Unfortunately, I don't have DVR capabilities so it's live or wait a week to watch on the network site for me.

I'm sorry but this is Castle without the chemistry, which was what made Castle "Castle". I just can't get past what a rip off this seems like and the fact that Milmar actually had the balls to do this.
That scene at the apartment door was pretty much Castle with the faces and genders changed.
If I want Castle type show, I've got my DVD's. -Sorry

I just can't get past what a rip off this seems like and the fact that Milmar actually had the balls to do this. That scene at the apartment door was pretty much Castle with the faces and genders changed. If I want Castle type show, I've got my DVD's.  They ripped off their own show. It is a blatant Castle rip off. |

Every show is a rip off of some other show, but some of them are fun anyway.

I will have a look for sure. I think Andrew and Terri are very good writers. Are we going to hear some dialog that we recognize? Absolutely, every writer has things they write with phrasing etc. no it’s not going to be “Castle”, nothing will ever meet those standards again but hopefully we will see great stories and fun dialog.

I do have access to the pilot episode, and I plan to watch it sometime this week. I won't be able to give away any spoilers, but I'll share my opinion once I watch it, for what that's worth. |

In my head I'm calling it "Castle-lite."

Maybe in premise, and not by the exact same writers, but even just the little bit in the Take Two short promo was a definite rip off of Castle. How many times did Beckett threaten to shoot Castle or remind him that she had a gun. What's the threat in Take Two, he'll shoot her if she doesn't behave. And Bilson doing her little excited dance when they get a case....how many episodes before she says "best case ever". I hope y'all enjoy it, but I just can't do it. I expect it will be continually compared to Castle, and not necessarily in a good way. And I think it ended up as a summer show for a reason. |

The OCD fans know that but the average viewer will not notice the dialog that we know by heart from Castle that will be used again. I watched the Take Two pilot and there is a LOT that's similar to Castle. So similar that I found it distracting. Everything from actual dialogue, to plot points, to music.
If you're really missing Castle season 1, then this might be right up your alley. If you weren't a super fan of Castle, you might not even notice all of the similarities.
It's not a bad show. Both leads are good and the general plot is fun. I didn't feel the intense chemistry between the leads that I always did between Castle and Beckett. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing anymore.
I plan to watch the next episode, but question whether I'll watch the entire season. I'll just take it episode by episode and see where it leads.

Crossovers from Castle?? Well, slap me silly this is quite the surprise. Now I find myself hoping they get at least 3 seasons so we can see what they might do.
