After viewing that 15th anniversary video, I’m craving a Firefly rewatch, and I’d love to do it with my daughter who saw the clip and asked to watch the show. The problem is, she’s only 8, and I’m not sure all of Firefly is appropriate, so I may have to pick and choose episodes.
My two biggest issues are that the Reavers can be seriously scary, and that a main character is a Companion (aka prostitute).
Also, it’s been several years since I’ve watched Firefly so my memory of which episodes have the most issues isn’t clear.
So, I thought maybe some of you hardcore Firefly fans might be able to help.
-Are there any episodes you think it might be best to completely skip?
-Which are the scariest Reaver episodes?
-Any other episodes with over the top violence you think might be too much?
-Any overtly sexual scenes?
-And lastly, if you have a great way of explaining a Companion without coming out and saying she’s paid to have sex, I’ve love to hear it.
