Here's my TV Fanatic review for episode 2 "Crash Course."
As I watched all of Nolan's accidents, I couldn't help but wonder if that's why Beckett never let Castle drive.

I kept expecting to hear One Adam 12 One Adam 12. It would have been so great if Castle had scenes like that. I wonder if he is still doing all that running? Be one way to get in his 12,000 steps.

Thanks for the review PTVJ. Nolan's many crashes were getting funny. It was hilarious when they gave them the old cruiser that was falling apart. I like the relationship between Nolan and Chen. It seems like Nolan needs more reassurance than she does (about his job) and would like to see the relationship move forward while she is good just enjoying what they have for now. Right now they seem to be good for each other, but I have a feeling that this will be Nolan's rebound relationship.
I think the writing on this show is quite good. They have a lot of stories to tell with cases for all 3 rookies, interactions with the TOs, the love story, and time for the rookies to commiserate. It seems like the hour is packed. Even though Lucy's TO was on medical leave, he still had a story line too. I'm glad they didn't have time to show Lucy's new TO going home for lunch to 'air things out'!
Nolan is starting to earn some respect. His TO even helped him with the paperwork at the end. Pretty funny how he got stuck with so much paperwork. Castle usually ran off when paperwork was mentioned.

CURSE not having a DVR! You guys are making me jealous! I checked ABC and I'm likely to have to wait a whole week to see the most current episode. I'm glad you both enjoyed this one and I look forward to seeing it ASAP.

It is available on Amazon for a fee. Sorry you have to choose between New Amsterdam and The Rookie.

Ha! I kept expecting that too! Only us old folks would think about that! He really is doing a lot of running. He said every time he has to run, they do about 30 takes. That would be a workout.
