Review. Spoiler Alert!
Wow, what a tense episode!
Nolan survives the attack on him by the brother of the guy he killed. He threw the guy through the window, knocking him out and giving Lucy and him time to decide that she should leave and Nolan would say he was alone. Nolan was cleared for the shooting but this new incident puts him on desk duty.
Isabel is found shot in the head but alive. Bradford and Chen, Lopez and Jackson, and Bishop go to an apartment building looking for the guy that shot Isabel. Mayhem breaks out. The bad guys have assault weapons and seem to be everywhere and they are jamming all communications. Bradford and Chen take refuge in an apartment with the bad guy's very pregnant girlfriend. Jackson and Lopez take refuge in another apartment and Bishop is slightly wounded and finds another apartment. The 2 detectives working the case show up not knowing there are active shooters. They are gunned down as soon as they get off the elevator. Meanwhile the pregnant girlfriend goes into labor. I can't even describe how nail-bitingly tense this all was!
Jackson held his own in all the gunfire and didn't hesitate at all. Nolan was put back on duty when the emergency call came in about the shooters and officers down. West had been a little suspicious about his story but he was impressed with how Nolan handled himself and cleared him in the home attack. Bradford was at Isabel's bedside when she started coming to. Nolan and Lucy seemed to have moved on to the friend zone. Things are more or less back to normal for next week.
It bothered me that Nolan decided to lie about Lucy being there when he was attacked. If he was questioned closely, I was afraid he wouldn't be able to keep up the lie plus I figured it was pretty likely that there were security cameras on the property that had recorded Lucy's coming and going. Nolan thought better of it later and told Lucy he wanted to tell the truth. She said no because she thought they would be fired for lying. I thought that might have put a rift between them. Maybe it will help Nolan decide that their breakup is for the best.
With the delay due to the president's speech, I hope everyone was able to catch the full episode.

This was an intense episode. I see that Alexi wrote this one. I am going on vacation for the next few weeks so I bought the season on Amazon. I hope they let me download episodes from my location so I don’t have to wait to seethe new episodes.

Here's my review of the episode for TV Fanatic:
In my opinion, the show keeps getting better with each new episode. It was even worth having to stay up later than usual to review it!

Great review! This is a really good show. I am surprised that the ratings aren't a bit better, but for whatever reason this has always been a very bad time slot for ABC.
