Review - Spoilers
We were all set to see how the Rookies did on their exam and they were certainly ready, talking about everything in terms of what code was violated. A terrorist threat put the exam on hold as the rookies help to find the terrorists that want to spread a hemorrhagic disease similar to ebola that is spread by contact with bodily fluids.
Bradford and Chen find a guy who accidentally got the backpack of one of the terrorists that contained vials of the disease and a misting fan to effectively spread it. The man had looked through the bag and became infected, suddenly coughing up blood all over Bradford. Bradford quickly shut the door to keep Chen out of harm's way. All they could do was wait on a vaccine to arrive.
The police couldn't tell the public because a panic would ensue and the terrorists would be tipped off perhaps causing them to set off their attack. Lopez wasn't going to tell Wesley but they were searching in his neighborhood for one of the terrorists and ran into Wesley. She told him he had to keep it quiet but there could be a terrorist attack and he should leave the city. Right away he says it's not right not to inform the public. Lopez arrests him, takes his phone, and sticks him in the back of the cruiser where he remained while they got into a firefight with the terrorists. Wesley was lucky he didn't get shot. Lopez and West follow the terrorist on to a bus. West shows extreme bravery trying to set Lopez up with a clear shot. She takes him down before he could spread the virus and West touches a spot of blood on his neck. "You shot me?" "Just a little." Lopez replies. Wesley was very impressed with their bravery so I think he and Lopez are good again but they have the most up and down relationship ever!
During the shootout, Jessica arrived on the scene and she and Nolan took off after one of the terrorists. They corner him in a shed. Nolan talks him into giving up, but as he moves forward with hands raised, Jessica guns him down saying she saw him reach. Nolan didn't see that. He's suddenly wondering who she really is. Nolan is wearing a camera so unless it was conveniently off, they could just check the footage. This relationship could be over and if Nolan really believes she gunned him down in cold blood, he may turn her in.
We were wondering what Bishop would do about working with IA to clear her record. Given her integrity, it seemed impossible that she would accept, however this is a TV show and that would certainly add more drama if she accepted. I was surprised that Bishop reported Ruiz to Commander West. I didn't realize what Ruiz suggested was a violation of Bishop's rights. So now Ruiz is the one in trouble and Bishop's case is closed. She did get a formal reprimand put into her record. She is really a great cop.
Bradford was trapped in that room with the guy hemorrhaging from his mouth, nose, and eyes and he finally dies a horrible death as Bradford looks on. Bradford figures he is in infected and gets out his gun telling Chen he's going out on his own terms. The CDC shows up and administers the vaccine. As they escort Bradford out to the ambulance, he collapses as the season ends.
I am so glad there aren't any really huge cliffhangers. Bradford had shown no signs of being infected so he may be reacting to the vaccine. I'm not too worried about him. Jessica and Nolan may be done after what he witnessed. Of course, they still have to pass their rookie exam to move on but they seem quite prepared. West and his dad even shared a heartfelt hug after their big shootout. It seemed like they wrapped up quite a few things in case there wasn't another season.
HOWEVER, we really need season 2! -Please or else Dragon
