Nolan got to meet his new training officer, Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper. She is a detective with a Golden Ticket (she can take whatever job she likes). Everyone wonders why she would choose to become a TO since everybody views that as a step backwards in her career. She worked undercover for years. She has a chip on her shoulder and is pretty unconcerned about training Nolan. Gray told Nolan that Harper would eat a 25 year old rookie alive. At least Nolan would stand a chance with her. Even Bradford was concerned about Nolan working with Harper. Nolan did pretty well holding his own with her until he got mowed down in a gun fight. Harper has a complicated story. Nolan is anxious to discover what it is but she's not exactly a sharer. At the end of the episode, the audience gets a sense of why she has taken the TO position.

The kid wanted a picture with the cops, not the lame social influencers.

Here's my review for TV Fanatic...
How do you feel about Det. Nyla Harper as Nolan's training office? Is this a good challenge for him or should he have someone more traditional in the role, someone more interested in actually training him?
