Greetings to all of you! I've been MIA from the board for weeks and I thought I'd explain what I've been up to. This past Thursday - Sunday, our Castle fan group (from all over the country) got together for the 6th year. We meet once a year somewhere and delight in each other's company. Last year we met in IBM's hometown so we got to include her for a day. It started out as a means of celebrating the show but quickly became good friends gathering for the sake of spending time together. This year, the group came all the way up here to the Northland and I was very busy planning and preparing. Back in February, I decided I would make enough new quilts that I could let each of the guests take one home with them. I got a bit carried away and actually completed 30 quilts! Fifteen Castle friends came to my house on Saturday to meet my husband and the horses and have lunch here. I did the big quilt giveaway and it was an amazing time! After that, the group SURPRISED me with a gift and you guys would KILL for it! They gave me a matted and framed Jason Palmer print of Nathan as Castle. He's wearing a long winter coat and holding a coffee cup, with a sexy smirk on his face! CF40 was sitting right next to me when I opened it and we both hid behind the picture having a Nathangasm as the group looked on! Talk about a treasure! BEST. FRIENDS. EVER. Now I'm looking for my life to return to normal and I hope to be better about joining in here. I do babysit for my grandson all day on Fridays though, so most Fillion Fridays I'll likely be pretending I'm rescuing people or treating sick animals or a million other things, but I'll check in as often as I can. As I perused what was new today, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Hobbit pics and helicopter hair -yeah - that took my breath away!!!!! I'm looking forward to lots more pics from New Zealand! I can only imagine the trouble you guys got up to!! And I think I know exactly the Jason Palmer print you are talking about. It's gorgeous!! Did you put plastic over it to prevent damage from......moisture? Such a wonderful gift to you, and the quilts sound amazing!! 30 quilts is unbelievable. Wow congrats to you for all that hard work!! So glad you'll be around more often!! They have a group that quilts at the senior center I attend and all I can say is you are one fantastic quilter. It was a very thoughtful and useful gift.

NathanFan - do you have a picture of the quilts? I would love to see how you made them Castle themed.

IBM, thanks for posting the Palmer print of Nathan! I thought about it but just don't have the skill to make it happen. It sucks to be me when it comes to technology! In answer to the drool question, it's well protected with glass and can be wiped clean quite easily. Let me tell you, when CF40 and I had a moment to just take in that sexy, cocky look on his face, the saliva (and other juices) were definitely flowing! Tongue out I'm going to hang it on the wall soon so I think he's safe from an ongoing moisture issue! To further explain about the quilts, I only made one that was considered Castle themed. I found a gorgeous fabric that featured blue butterflies and used that extensively in the quilt. I kind of worried that more than one person might want that one, but, as luck would have it, my son-in-law's mom who is a dear friend of mine, took it first. I gave my family members the first choice of all the quilts a week before everyone came. She chose the blue butterfly one but then offered to return it and choose something else because she thought a Castle fan should have it. I told her she was actually doing everyone a favor by taking it out of the mix so there weren't any cat fights over it! I tried to make a wide variety of colors and patterns so people could find something that floated their boat. I have some pictures of the quilts but, again, am not sure how I can get them onto this site. I'll see what I can do. It's good to be back!!!!!!!

IBM, you're amazing! Thanks for posting those pictures. Most of those are ones that the guests took home, but there are a couple that I use in my own home.

IBM, you're amazing! Thanks for posting those pictures. Most of those are ones that the guests took home, but there are a couple that I use in my own home. They were all so neat, but the Packers quilt was brillilant! From the footballs to the beer to the brats on the grill, it was inspired.

He looks so relaxed and happy. I think he is really enjoying not having the demands of the lead role in a series. I'd probably be relaxed too if I were tooling around New Zealand in a helicopter with my friends. New Zealand looks like a very beautiful place. https://www.instagram.com/p/BaYL9QXgMlf

Thanks for the compliments on the quilts you guys. It was really fun to play with so many different fabrics and color schemes. The Packer quilt is partially from a pattern I bought. It was for a small wall quilt and I wanted to make it bigger as a cuddle quilt so I redesigned the pattern and added a few original ideas. I'm especially proud of the bratwurst block! I looked all over to find fabric that looked like a grilled brat. I made 7 of those quilts and have given all but one away to die hard Packer fans. I also made 2 Wisconsin Badger quilts in red and black and white that look really cool. One was a wedding gift and the other went to some close friends.
