I saw this post. Is that his son's girlfriend? I like that Nolan is able to take his stress of the job out on his new house. It should be fun to see it develope over the season.

Ooo, his son is engaged and now he can look at a background check on her. Should he? Will he? Looking at it could cause a rift between him and his son.

* * * Spoilers * * *
Another great episode. Nolan and Harper got along well this week, although neither intends to share any personal info with the other. The rookies have to develop a CI this week. In spite of a few hiccups and Nolan's 1st CI almost dying, things went well - well enough for Jackson to win his short sleeves.
On the home front, Nolan's son Henry returns home with a fiancee, who promptly announces she is pregnant, but she's just kidding! Nolan doesn't seem to appreciate the joke much. The night detective, Nick, does a background check on her and gives it to Nolan. He's torn about reading it. His cop friends think he should but now he has Grace to talk to about parenting issues. She tells him it would be a breach of trust and throws the report away. She thought better of it and read it and told Nolan the girl had been arrested for torching an ex-boyfriend's car. Nolan is understandably concerned and confronts her. Turns out Henry already knew about it and although she used poor judgement, she had a good reason for doing it.
Is anyone else bothered by his contractor skills? Everything in the house is falling apart, he's getting shocked by the electrical systems which may need to be replaced and he's putting up drywall. Most contractors tear things out that are useless instead of doing piecemeal work here and there especially if something like the wiring might need to be replaced. The doorknob on the front door even fell off when he went to open it. Wouldn't that be the 1st thing you would fix? It's really bothering me.

Based on all the home improvement shows I have watched, you do the demo and then you start your repairs. He is supposedly living in the house so in my opinion the doorknob should have been replaced promptly. Then redo the wiring. I think the house rehab is mostly for humor. He has been there for weeks and it looks like nothing has been done.
