Here's my review of the episode. It was one of the best of the season and I'm curious if other people had some of the same concerns that I did about certain characters.

I'm so glad you posted your review. Feels like we waited forever for The Rookie to return, but it was certainly worth the wait. Can this show get any better? It was an emotional & tense ride. Great writing, great acting.
Lucy's situation was so terrifying starting with waking up to getting tattooed with her day of death to walking to a desolate area and seeing her freshly dug grave and the barrel that she knew she would someday be discovered in. Caleb was right about her getting into the barrel. If she goes in on her own she will survive a little longer and maybe her friends will find her. Hope lives a little longer. She shouldn't have been singing to conserve her air, but it made for good TV, a back drop for her final moments and a back drop for the team frantically looking for her.
When Caleb grabbed Armstrong, I figured he was a goner. He's the newest guy and we're not as vested in him as the regulars so if they wanted to kill someone else, he would probably be the one.
The group forgot all their problems and put everything into finding Lucy. Tim was the one that found her grave and pulled her out and performed CPR. Watching him do CPR and her waking and crying while he held her was all so emotional! There was great relief and joy when she came around and they knew she would be OK. Of course Tim also had her favorite veggie burger and fries ready for her in the hospital.
Although they all seemed to be doing great at the end of the episode, I'm afraid there will be fallout from this. Lucy will probably be dealing with PTSD. Tim may start treating her totally differently since he feels so guilty. I don't think she could handle him coddling her.
When Nolan went to see Rosalind to tell her Caleb was dead and they were done with her, I thought we wouldn't be seeing her again but then she left us with that little tidbit about Armstrong so she may be returning.
I was so glad Grey invited Armstrong over for BBQ and a game. Everybody needs somebody to connect with and Armstrong is carrying a lot of baggage.

I never realized that so many fans were shipping Tim/Lucy before this episode. I never saw that as a possibility until now. I'd still be surprised it the show went that way with them but I am intrigued.

Melissa's mom reacting to the show. Can you imagine seeing your daughter going through all that!

I think what bothered me more than the contraband was Nick falling being so distracted by Rosalind that he got himself captured and then believed Caleb when he said he would release them. He's too seasoned a detective to fall for this, but Rosalind found his weak spot and exploited it. Otherwise I loved the episode.

I'm sure he didn't believe that Caleb would release them, but I think he was willing to sacrifice himself to possibly be able to save Lucy no matter how slim that possibility was. I was surprised that he was off putting flowers on his wife's grave when everyone was frantically following up every lead to find Lucy.
