Who thought speed dating would be a good idea? Has Officer Bradford gone soft? And will Henry and Abigail last? Here's my review of The Rookie Season 2 Episode 12, "Now and Then"

Great review and another great episode. It was interesting having Abigail do a ride along. I really gained a lot of respect for her in this episode. I think she would make a great police officer. She learned very quickly that a "cool" smashed body was someone's loved one even if their family was disappointed in them, they still take their death hard. She seemed to really appreciate and respect Nolan. I was glad to see Nolan confront his son about not supporting her. If Henry had concerns, he should have talked to Abigail about them. I hope they do stay together.
I was also surprised about Lucy using concealer on her tattoo. It couldn't stay on long with her clothes rubbing against it. I'm sure it's a constant reminder about the trauma she suffered, but I can't imagine concealer could give her any comfort for a tattoo that isn't visible anyway. Bradford had the best advice about seeing it as her mark as a victim or as a badge as a survivor.
As for the speed dating thing, you can often tell pretty quickly if you're going to want to spend more than a couple of minutes with someone. Maybe Lucy wasn't ready for it, but she was telling everyone that she was just fine so maybe Harper and Lopez were testing her in a controlled environment. I think Lucy realized that she wasn't just fine after she took down the poor guy who touched her sweater. I don't know how much time has elapsed since Lucy's ordeal. A week, 2 weeks, a month? If they mentioned it I didn't catch it but it's going to take a while to get over it so that it not the first thing she thinks about when she wakes up or the last thing going through her head at night. She'll get there. I'm glad the show didn't gloss over it.

I really felt for Nolan when his son was in danger. He handled it very well and successfully rescued them. I loved this hug!

I realize people are stupid but seriously if you see the police with their guns drawn hiding behind their police car, why would you rush over to get a selfie? Eye Roll
