I just envisoned if he did this role it would be more like Captain Mal than Castle. If anyone was considering him for this role in a movie, I doubt this would cause them to hire him, but then again, I really know nothing about Nathan Drake and perhaps this is exactly who he is. I kept thinking I wish Whedon had filmed this. I think it would have been much better.
I'm really very happy that Nathan got to do this little video. I'm sure it was exciting for him to finally do the role he'd been interested in for so long. It's exciting for his fans as well to get to see him do an Indiana Jones kind of role.
I just keep hoping he gets a juicy role in a movie. I'm really surprised he hasn't gotten a role in the Marvel Universe.

Uncharted has over 1.5 million views and could possible lead to something more. A web series perhaps or something more mainstream. I've never played the game and have only seen outtakes so I didn't realize the pains they went to to make the video as similar to the game as possible, especially in the fight sequences.

I have no idea who Nathan Drake is or anything about the video game. One of the reviews on Youtube the video was just as cheesy as the game. So the video was trying to stay inn the same style. It is up to 1.85 million views. I hope it gets a million more. Maybe then Hollywood would wake up and see people would watch him in a movie. I agree with your opinion of the Marvel movies. Seriously there are other actors but you see the same ones over and over again. |

Here is a great interview. Good questions/answers I haven't heard before. I loved that he would like to be frozen at age 32. I thought he was perfect in his early to mid 30s. I kind of hate seeing my heroes get older but love the ones that are happy with whatever age they are and live that age to the fullest. Dame Angela Lansbury comes to mind still active and performing at 92. But I digress...

If you're interested, watch this fan reaction video. An Uncharted gamer films himself watching Uncharted. He's excited to see Nathan Fillion. Says he looks and talks and fights just like Nathan Drake. Doubly excited to see Stephen Lang as Sully. Excited how like the game it is, the way shots are framed like it is in the game, the way the script is written. He is almost moved to tears it's so good!

If James Gunn ever had a thought of actually giving Nathan a spot in the Guardians of the Galaxy universe, that just evaporated with the firing of Gunn by Disney over his old tweets making heinous jokes about rape, pedophilia, 911 and other not very funny issues. He said those jokes were at least 10 years ago and he has grown as a person and understands how inappropriate they were. Slither was made over 10 years ago. Makes me wonder if he was telling those kind of horrible jokes around Nathan and if so what Nathan's reaction was?

Nathan has always referred to James Gunn as a good friend and Gunn has always struck me as crude and insulting. It never seemed to fit because Nathan never stoops to that kind of humor - at least in public arenas.
