Goodness! I really thought ABC was committed to the show and I have to believe that it was their own error in not premiering it the same time as New Amsterdam. I think The Rookie would be faring better in the ratings had it come out of the gates at the same time. I sure hope they give it another shot and perhaps move its time slot. ABC invested a lot in the advertising but I think you are right that they should have aired it sooner. I think they need to give it another season to try to let it get established. Every week I see people on twitter that have just discovered it and are loving it plus I don't think you can discount the international market. We'll see what happens. Did you see the post about Trucco coming to The Rookie? It could be a recurring role. |

Yes, I'm very excited about Michael Trucco joining the cast and I do hope it's a recurring role. I would guess that he and Nathan have a good time when they're filming together.

An article about Whiskey Cavalier and The Rookie. They've coined a new term for these programs - the snuggie procedural. They're more warm and fuzzy than some of the more grittier procedurals. I saw the 1st episode of Whiskey Cavalier and enjoyed it. Did anyone else see it?

That was a very positive article! I hope the prediction that The Rookie has a good 6 seasons of stories to tell, comes true. I sure wish ABC would announce a renewal and calm my nerves.
I watched the premier of Whisky Cavalier and absolutely loved it! There's certainly an element of silliness that caused me to giggle a few times but the story itself and the chemistry between the leads were very solid and left me excited for more.
Personally, I agree with the author of this article. I'd much rather go to bed with a warm fuzzy feeling than being all tense and shocked. I for one am thrilled that network TV is giving us a little more of the snuggie-type shows!
