He may be on GMA to announce The Rookie renewal. I can't imagine he would be on to announce the cancellation. |

Actually, I believe all of the Upfronts are on hold since the networks have no idea what they'll have available to air in the fall, and a lot of their regular advertisers don't know if they'll need ad space because the market for products and services is in question.
Normally, ABC announces most of their renewals/cancellations by this coming Friday but there's nothing normal about 2020!

Alexi's thoughts on the season 2 finale and season 3. They've been told to start a writer's room for season 3 so that's a good sign.

I agree with most of your analysis. I was having trouble warming up to Lopez but her romance with Wesley showed a whole new side to her. I thought their proposal was perfect. I'm glad Jessica moved on and Grace came on board. I think they are a cute couple and I still have hopes for them, but of course we have this wrinkle of her wanting to try to get back with her husband. There are definitely holes in some of the plots and things they do that stretch credibility. I'm disappointed that Armstrong is the bad guy because I really liked him, but it certainly added drama. I'm quite anxious for season 3 but don't know how they could film before next year.

Although I haven't heard anything specific about The Rookie, TV production was given the OK to start back up on June 12th. However, Covid-19 cases are on the rise so they may have to put more restrictions into effect. There are even guidelines to try to social distance as much as possible while filming, but I think it would be difficult to keep everyone safe.

I've had contact with some people who work for productions companies. They're hearing things like, no crowd or group scenes in scripts, keeping scenes to as few people as possible, and having crew and actors tested regularly. It's going to be an interesting year, even for TV.
