I always liked Sarah. She should be a good addition.

Interesting interview with Alexi Hawley. He talked about some of the things that made the basis for the show. They used the real guy this was based on for the back story and getting to live at a buddy's place in Los Angeles. Of course Nolan's digs are grander than the real character. They also liked Nolan having a relationship with his son, but not having him as a weekly character. He also mentioned that The Rookie wouldn't try to cover some of the more provocative issues. They were a cop show and although they covered serious topics, they were more on the light-hearted side.

I can't believe the guy asked about Nolan's love interest and had the actress and character totally wrong! Instead of Lucy Chen he said Angela Lopez and Hawley didn't correct him!

It was a double whammy night! First, there was a great Rookie episode then there was a Kimmel appearance. Jimmy has been bringing on furloughed government workers and giving them some goofy little job on his show and giving them a short interview. The lady he had on tonight was a HUD investigator. So what job did she get? To fix Nathan's hair for the show! How do I signup?  They showed her backstage 'working' on his hair, then another time they cut to them backstage to show Nathan putting finishing touches on her hair!

I am so upset that these hardworking people are furloughed, unable to get a paycheck. This particular lady had just purchased their first home and now has no money for the mortgage or any other bills. I don't know how much Jimmy pays them for these 'jobs', but I'm sure anything would help. If she is at all a fan of Nathan's, I hope this brought a little sunshine into her life.

Jimmy asked Nathan about swimming with sharks and asked if they would eat him. He replied, "I assume everything wants to eat me because I'm delicious!" I'm sure he is!    

Then Jimmy said he thought moms loved Nathan and wanted Nathan to call someone's (from the audience) mom. I think a lot more than moms love him but then again I'm a mom so... Anyway, he called a girl's mom but had to leave a message. It was a long message but quite fun. There is a short clip above of him on the phone, "On TV I solve crimes but tonight I'll steal your heart."   I would die to have a message from him on my phone. Frankly, I would have rather Jimmy spent more time talking to Nathan and less talking to the girl with the mom, but it was a good appearance. He actually barely had a chance to plug The Rookie!
